Royal Sapphires
Prince Charles and Prince William are not the only ones that have showered their brides with the blue gemstone.  Prince Albert gave Victoria this diamond and sapphire tiara he designed in 1842.  The sapphires are set in gold and the diamonds in silver.  It is now in possession of a Queen Victoria descendant and is sometimes lent to museums.
